Our Community

Friends meetings hold celebrations and observances in much the same manner and spirit as meeting for worship.

Business decisions are made in a monthly session called meeting for worship with attention to business. These are held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on the first Sunday of the month. Every member or attender of the meeting is encouraged to attend. Decisions are reached by a common sense of the meeting, tested in the Spirit, rather than by vote.

Marriage in the care of the meeting is celebrated in a gathering for worship during which the couple expresses their committment and the entire assemblege witnesses by signing the marraige certificate. Our meeting celebrates the marraige of same-gender couples as well as opposite-gender couples. We believe that God has blessed these unions.

Gatherings for worship are also held as memorial meetings to celebrate the life of a departed friend.
