The Resources Committee was formed at the Meeting for Worship With Attention to Business in February 2018.
The purpose of the Committee is to address the concern origionally presented by Julian Cossman Cooke:
“How long has it been since FMA as a whole considered our resources and how best to utilize them?”
Julian was not sure what process is appropriate for addressing this concern. However, he believes that whatever process is chosen should focus on the Spirit and not begin with finances.
The Resources Committee has held a day long retreat on this topic in October 2018 followed by three forums. We currently have five small groups working to further consider several of the "Theme Areas" which were identified during these meetings.
One of the important ideas expressed during the Retreat was the need for more FMA members/attenders to understand the current processes used to address our resources: through committee structures, how they operate, how they communicate with FMA and other committees.
We also feel we need a common knowledge and understanding of the Meeting’s tangible resources, including finances, property, membership and others.
The Resources committee continues in this work in coordination with the other committees whose focus is on the material spiritual and human resources of the meeting.
